BBD season comes to a close.

March 12, 2009 - BBD lost in the State quarterfinals to Masuk by a score of 3-0 on Thursday evening.   Although the IceCats outshot Masuk by a significant margin once again they ran into a hot Goalie and a Masuk team that is playing extremely well.   Masuk delivered their second upset of the State Tournament and advances to the Semi-finals.

Despite the loss, BBD should be very proud of their accomplishments both on and off the ice this year.  Danbury joined Brookfield and Bethel for the first time and 3 School’s came together to work towards a common goal.   The team posted an impressive 16-6 record and a subset of the team played a number of Division 1 JV teams in scrimmages and was 5-0-1 so the future is bright!

Off the ice the players and families worked together on numerous fund raisers such as letter writing campaigns, working the concession stand at MadHatter games, serving breakfast at Applebee’s, and selling apparel and advertisements in the program book.   Without this effort we would not be able to fund the program so thank you for a job well done!   Special thanks to the “gang” who made sure every person attending an IceCat home game was asked several times to purchase a raffle ticket!

Also, thank you to the Team Managers, Coaches, Athletic Directors, Blueliners and Danbury Hockey Boosters for all your hard work and dedication!   Lastly, thank you to the IceCat fans – everyone will fondly remember that cowbell and tremendous support.

Next year starts today!

APPLEBEE'S PANCAKE BREAKFAST A GREAT SUCCESS!
Thank you Applebee's and all the folks who came out to support the BBD Icecats on Sunday, February 8th.  Over 250 people enjoyed  breakfast with outstanding service and all funds raised will go to offset ice time costs.

Thank you all Icecat players and managers for working hard and providing great service!
